The mainstream U.S. Media has finally reached ZERO credibility
Some wingnut internet rumor monger makes up a story about the documents being forged, and now, the Bush loving press whores are all trumpeting it like it's gospel.

They've been in bed with Bush since the Iraq war, but now they've shed any mask of journalistic integrity they once had and are openly going to the mat for Bush.

2. As Ted Koppel would say,
They are only reporting the "fact" that some people claim the documents are forgeries. That's real news, man! The fact that some people are saying it!

Others claim it's flat. We'll explore both sides of this issue. We report, you decide!"

5. Media now reports based on Internet rumors...
You couldn't be more right. This is an all time low.

8. The ones that they like, of course.
The news is that "a lot of people are saying . . . " whatever.

The final triumph of rumor and repititious script (and their own self-interest) over anything else. Amazing.

Ah, but this time the "honor" of a media instrument (CBS) itself is at stake -- so let's see what CBS does in its evening news today...

7. ZERO credibility
I can hardly express the complete contempt I feel for television media. I hope the silver lining is that more people will catch on as the propaganda becomes more obvious.

I like to call them Pravda, but I think the GOP Mighty Wurlitzer is good also. (Someone on DU called them the Mighty GOP Whorelitzer. That works for me too.)

10. Yes, it's important to keep the record straight
The current dismal state of television dates at least as far as the 2000 election. None of this would have been possible without them, a fact that I hope isn't forgotten.

And I will definitely be watching CBS Evening News tonight (well, most nights). They are getting my hopes up. Sure CBS is the military-industrial complex, but at this point, I wouldn't be disappointed to see tanks roll up to the WH. I really hope the power struggle in Washington is breaking into an actual struggle instead of what has appeared as defeat.

11. I'm serious.
It would be GREAT COMEDY, farce or surrealism if it were not so deadly. But hey, maybe we're collectively too stupid to live.

BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES! IVAN THE TERRIBLE HAS MORPHED INTO WIND AND RAIN!!!! FLATTENED GRENAND, JAMAICA ON THE HORIZON, HEADED TO FLORIDA!!

Please DO send Geraldo (ohne Team, bitte) for on-the-spot coverage. We might get lucky this time!

The American media is a circus, viewing it from afar. All my elderly neighbors, who survived the last fascist incarnation, simply quip in colorful, regional phrases about Dummheit. For them, the memory remains fresh. Watch where you walk around here and bronze plaques in the sidewalk, acknowledging those who were taken from their homes and murdered, will catch your eyes. It's SO SAD Amis seem not able to learn from the experience of others... :-( :-(

12. Heard Wolf say...
Of course we don't want to speculate...but these appear to be forgeries and it seems that CBS was duped. I swear that is almost verbatim.

It worked. Friday...out comes the truth about Bubble Boy disobeying and getting away with special privileges due to Daddy and the story is only about typewriters. The hurricane will blow this away, too.

13. boycott them..
I do not watch TV any more. Not a single minute. It's liberating not to have to watch ads.

I have internet for news and info, netflix/blockbuster/theaters/concert for entertainment and public library/book stores for knowledge and wisdom.

I have a feeling more and more people will start rejecting passive consumption. That's the only way out.
