Do Repugs know of Google --- IBM Typewriters ......
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 05:45 AM by Florida_Geek

This is one of many IBM typerwriters that could have written those letters. This is a 1966 IBM Selectric Composer.

No you do not need Microsoft Word on a 10Ghz Pent. 9 to do that type of spacings........

1. They will do or say anything to question the facts
including questioning the military's own record official record of Kerry. Unfortunately they are very good at smear campaigns and it shows in the polls with Kerry which has me worried. I wish more people would actually think than blindly accept what they hear and see.

9. And they are bound by NO ethics NO law NO conscience NO shame
Without a Free Press, their Bushevik lies easily find their way into the Imperial Bloodstream.

I never imagined that it would become almost as easy as the Soviet Union told their lies openly and shamelessly for someone to do that to Amerika.

I was wrong. We are just about there already.

The differences between Imperial Media and Soviet Media are stylistic alone.

The results, total lies and siniformation...the fact that watching/reading Pravda makes one LESS informed.

No difference. Our anchorwhores wear better suits.

2. My husband upon hearing the debate about the use of
typewriter vs. computer today, declared that the Selectric was in use then. He remembers them himself from that era. So maybe the so-called experts weren't even alive during that period and hadn't bothered researching before they made their pronouncements about the documents authencity.

3. I tend to think ...
... that the original document was degraded to such an extent that it could not be microfilmed. Either that, or the original microfilm was damaged at some point, and the documents had to be re-created by hand.

Just a theory, but I do recall someone saying at one point that there were damaged microfilms.

4. were these documents not provided by the Pentagon?
Is the Bush Cartel claiming now that the Pentagon is actively trying to defeat their Commander-in-Chief?

5. I'm suspicious
Unfortunately, I've lost all faith in credibility of anything from the government under the current administration.

I can't help wondering if 60 Minutes wasn't deliberately duped, just so that GW's guys could come back later and point to a hoax, thereby "discrediting" (at least to many) ANY aspersions on GW's military service.

I don't put anything past the current "Committee to Re-Elect".

6. Exactly...
my thought.

It seems that the accusation is that CBS forged them.

If they are authentic the Repub pundits will keep saying they might not be. It is their way of sidetracking the real story. Other docs are coming and this is after the Pentagon has said twice there were no more. They are either incomp or stonewalling.

7. Welcome to DU EL!
Yep, if there was any forging it was done by the Committee to ReSelect as you say. I wish I could list all the deliberate misdirections and lies I witnessed during 15 years of federal service. They will do ANYTHING, all without shame or worry of consequences.

8. No - the con job is to change the story - to spin - into "is it a forgery"
with no evidence

The Networks are allowing the spin because they have no ethics.

The typing fits OLD TECHNOLOY of the time - the expensive mag tape system abilities were put into cheap selectics well before 72 - and almost all Pentagon docs of the same period look like those released to the press -

but GOP whores "assert" and for the Networks the assertion become the truth as the truth is not reported.

How else does a war hero become evil - and a war criminal become beloved commander in chief.

11. How did Hitler become a "Noble Honest Man of God"?
The same way Bunnypants* become a "Noble Honest Man of God".

The selfsame way.

13. Because GOP operatives "selectively" look for evidence
to prove their point and will hammer it night and day until their brownshirted lemmings repeat it over and over again...
