Anyone having trouble with their phone service?
I figure between Goss's CIA Iniside America plan and Ashcroft, we'll probably all have our lines tapped soon. Recently I've spoken with a number of Democrats who have noticed their phones going out for large portaions of the day. The phone company claims it's an external malfunction but not big enough to affect other phones in the area. No one wants to be paranoid but I'm curious if anyone on this board is having that trouble.

3. Well I did early this summer.
Severe buzzing on the line but they came and redug the line and put in a new one and it's been fine since. Sometimes it really is something outside, who knows what it will be if he gets another term.

4. I work for Verizon and
I don't think Ashcroft has to cause outages to tap your line. I have no proof but I believe that the Feds can tap remotely and digitally - no clicks, no static, no noise.

BTW neigborhoods are often served by digital extensions of the Central Office. These Digital Line Concentrators can lose their sanity, malfunction or have their link to the CO cut by careless diggers. It happens all the time.

There is plenty to worry about but I don't think this is one of them. Just remember-when you talk on the phone, whether land line, cell phone or Voice over IP, someone may be listening. That's not paranoia, that's the honest truth.
