Agitprop disruption on DU...never would have believed it..
Edited on Tue Aug-26-03 03:52 PM by TheBigGuy
I guess I always suspected this went on, but never really seen it confirmed until just during the past 24 hours....via this "Veterans Against Clark" thread.

The thread parent apparently had it in for Clark becuase some political operative who supported him was allegedly anti-vet.....
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=229419&mesg_id=229419

Then the poster "UTUSN" does a bit of research here at DU and finds out the thread parent parented a similar thread against Kerry, accusing Kerrys campaign of being anti- vet.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=229419&mesg_id=229968&page=

And the link to the earlier anti-Kerry thread, where the poster "jiacinto" uncovers the charges are bogus by going right to the source...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=126439

So it appears we have a poster with an anti-Clark and anti-Kerry agenda, using the bogus charge that these two candidates who are veterans are themselves anti-veteran, or have campaigns that are.

This is just such a classic case of agitation/propagnada distruption. And fortunatly we have some on-the-ball posters (UTUSN and jaicinto) who managed to expose the thread parent for being an apparent disruptor.

3. Could be!
I smelled a rat early on, but there is sure some good research here. This is one good thing about the archive feature in that one can research posting history.

2. Great work UTUSN and Jaicinto
I read UTUSN' posts last night and must admit it was a breath of fresh air - sucked the already shakey credibility of tboullett
dry. Thanks.

That said, wonder how the campaign against Jason is going? Someone might be sleeping kinda late today...

7. Observe the posters replies
Often a disruptor attacks and runs.

But alternately they often hang around for long series of replies with pat answers indicating they had set the stage and prepared for most responses.

9. Locking
Please use alert if you suspect another poster is a disruptor. Public accusations such as this are against the DU rules.
