Should Kerry and Dean do Letterman?
Not together on the same episode, obviously, but still...

Hillary always gets rave reviews when she goes to chat it up with Dave, and Willie Tanner will predictably take advantage of this particular CBS spotlight...

So why aren't Kerry's and Dean's advisors encouraging them to appear on The Late Show too? Wouldn't that only help them raise their profiles in New York state, not to mention across the rest of the country?

1. They should both try to do the Late Show and Saturday Night Live
In order to raise their profiles:)

2. Sounds good to me
I remember Gore on SNL- that was a classic episode :D
Kerry and Dean would both profit by being on any kind of late night comedy show- I'm sure Conan and John Stewart would have a blast with these guys.
From what I hear, they are pretty funny in person.

Oh yeah, it would be a great idea for both of them and for the Dems in general to get the message out.

6. A serious candidate should avoid it.
Letterman is comedy schtick. We have serious political issues going on in this country and we need a serious candidate to win and to deal with these issues. It is not a laughing matter, but the pressure to be 'funny' would still be strong.

I say let Letterman do the jokes.. for the candidates it can backfire and, in reality, the issues are nothing to laugh about. Serious presidential candidates, I believe, should avoid the late night shows. I hope they all do.

7. so then why did Hillary do it?

10. Hillary was fabulous on David Letterman's show
I even watched the re-run of it last night. She talked about many serious issues, and the commedic side of it gave it the perfect balance. I'd love to see some of the candidates of his show.

12. I think they are concerned
about peaking too soon maybe? Its a better idea to do this touchy feely kind of stuff next Aug.

You know, ride the wave.
