Dealing w/ Conservatives who think the Christian Right is holy or correct
I know that there aren't any DUers that think this. But, there are some Conservatives who think the Christian Right and certain Christian Right Leaders are Holy, Divine, and/or factually correct. If you see a Conservative who thinks this, you should ask him/her these questions.

Some of these do sound kind of weird. I am not accusing anybody of anything, and I am not trying to make this a Conspiracy, these are just some questions you should ask them, and see what their reaction is.

If the Christian Right is so holy, then why did they help the Afghan Mujahideen? (The Mujahideen were the 'freedom' fighters that later became the Taliban and Al Qaeda, the Mujahideen themselves weren't exactly good either as they had a history of torture and terrorism)

Why do leaders in the Christian Right have relationships with Efrain Rios Montt, Charles Taylor, Augusto Pinochet, Mobutu Sese Seko, Renamo (a terrorist group in Mozambique), Roberto D'Aubuisson, Jorge Serrano, Frederick Chiluba, and the Contras?

More on Charles Taylor - Why did Pat Robertson have a diamond mining deal with Charles Taylor? And then you should ask them this: Did you know Charles Taylor also had a diamond deal with Al Qaeda?

1. "You've been brainwashed by liberal socialists ..."
... and so nothing you say is going to matter.

Seriously, you'd have an easier go of making freethinkers out of Jehovah's Witnesses.

2. Personally....

...I don't think you can reason much with these folks, because they're not operating from a standpoint of reason, but belief and emotion.

Some of my family are the Christian Right, and I wouldn't even begin to get into it with them. We helped the Afghan Mujahideen because that's how God wanted things to unfold.

See how easy that is?

3. I would more likely ask them
Why they are not following the teachings of Jesus the Christ?
For if they had they would never have been involved with such sleazy people as you suggest.
And I would remind them that on the back of the Beast of Revelations was seen a Harlot riding on its back, and when Daniel asked what that meant the angel told him it was religion. And if that harlot had a face it probably look just like Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell. (what an ugly whore)

4. Tell them Florida is being punished for their electoral misdeeds in 2000
That might make sense to them. They are unreachable as they put all their eggs in the religion basket and will only listen to their spiritual leaders. Unless their leaders start spewing the truth, which isn't to damn likely, they aren't going to let the truth in.
