I wrote Act Up asking about the condition of the woman who was kicked around during the Rethuglican Youth rally on Wednesday. Here is the response I got:

Taylor Bickford was interviewed earlier by ABC, has brown hair and can talk. The kicker is a blond punk who stared blankly at the ABC interviewer rather than answer any questions or continue with an interview he'd agreed to.

I would imagine WABC knows who he is, since they had to get him to sign a waiver to appear in that interview (linked at their site right after the incident, probably gone now).

It wouldn't be difficult to find out who the Hitler Youth punk is, should the ActUp victim wish to press charges. Just subpoena the waiver from WABC.

4. I'm confused

I thought Act Up started out as a vital AIDS activist group, then got taken over and was populated by a bunch of "HIV does not cause AIDS" wack jobs. Are they back to being the good guys now? Any group that can disrupt the RNC are pretty cool, but praising them at this point would be, for me (I only speak for myself), like praising $cientologists or Jim Jones followers. The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend.
