However late in the game it is still a good idea to continue to inform friends and family and spread the word about this issue, because it will not be going away after the election. Of course, the more information that is known about electronic voting and the potential for fraud, the more it will raise much needed concern about the vulnerability of the upcoming election and elections to come if we continue to utilize a voting method that has proven to be unsatisfactory.
Also, especially for us here in California, its important we contact our respresentatives, the Secretary of State's office and the Attorney General's office to ask why these machines are going to be allowed in our election, even with all the information including the GEM's gliches which reveal the ease of breaking into the balloting data and manipulating the results. It's been proven through the work of Bev Harris, Andy Stephenson, and others that there is no logical reason for these machines to be in use.
It also would seem to be a violation of the Voting Rights Act by allowing the tabulation of votes through *invisible* computer tabulation, because it lacks the mandatory transparency standard that is required by law, which states that counting votes must entail full independent supervision from the original casting of the vote to the final tabulation.
