My Report of the NYC Protest Today (Picture Heavy Thread)

Since today was my birthday, I decided that the best way to kick it off was to engage in a mass protest on the West Side, so my friend Cristina and I went over to the West Side. At first, it didn't seem like there were many protesters but it was only 10am. The longer we waited for the rally to kick off, more protesters arrived. Cristina and I were stunned at how many protesters there were and tried to guesstimate the crowd to no avail. We were also relieved to see that the cops weren't in riot gear or anything like that. They stood by idly, smacking on their gums.

In any case, here are the photos below from the protest today:




This guy dressed up as Bush was totally awesome, and there were all these cameramen clustered around him.




My friend Cristina's arm. I drew a pretzel and the words "Eat Me" next to it on her other arm.






When we walked by this hotel, we booed the hell out of it, and I'm sure the delegates inside heard us.


We also booed this one. ;-)


We chanted, "Fox News Suck, and Fuck Fox News" when we saw this huge screen featuring Bush's rally on the Macy building.

I couldn't come to NYC, so attended a solidarity rally for you in Santa Monica, CA (right on the Pacific Ocean). Attendance was 100+, by my guesstimate. We heard live reports from the NYC protest.
