Giraldo on Faux, interview with Clinton
switched to see if they are carrying the march, but Giraldo was on showing his quickie interview with Clinton as he left Riverside Church (?) this morning. Clinton said the usual stuff about the swift boat tin foil hat smear, and then Giraldo asked him about Kerry's slow response to the charges. Clinton replied 2 things that don't make sense to me, so someone explain please: Clinton said Kerry had never had anyone try to smear him before like this. And, he said it "disoriented" Kerry at first.

1. I believe that he said such smears are disorienting
I didn't get that Kerry was disoriented, per se. But that such smears are generally disorienting at first.

2. But the fact that
Kerry was disoriented troubles me. He should not have been surprised at the smear. How could he forget the treatment given to Gore and Clinton? Both were smeared horribly. The Kerry campaign should have been ready to respond to each attack.

3. Bill has oft times said things that I don't believe have helped Kerry,
or the democrats. The speech at the convention was great, but let him get on national television, and he says stuff that I just don't understand.

Maybe he meant that the unbelievable venom and lies of the attacks would catch anyone off guard and be disorienting. I think I'll go with that interpretation. Because I can't make any sense out of anything else.

4. Clinton was cool, calm & collected and
everything he says & does only helps Kerry - he said it just right.
