I've been treated like scum by my government ever since I got back from Iraq.

I tried to call you before, Mrs. McCarthy, and I thought I got my message through, but some secretary took it, and most likely threw it away in disconcern. I am going to try to get through to you again.
The first time I tried to contact you, I wanted to tell you that our Sergeant Major, Salvadore Martinez, in Iraq was withholding our phone privileges. They were originally 7 minutes like, every two weeks, but then he started to take them away as a form of mass-punishment. I heard it changed a little after I came home though, but that doesn't matter now because the entire unit is home.
There was also the issue of medals. I have not been awarded a SINGLE medal for my deployment to Iraq, OR my subsequent deployment to GTMO, Cuba. And I DID actually do some fighting in Iraq. That is still an issue, after 8 months out of my unit, they still haven't given me anything, even after contacting my Battalion, my Company, and talking to some of my Platoon who is still in Ft. Hood. I was with the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Scout Platoon (1Bde, 4th Infantry Division).
