Clark is a "killer" BS...where do you get off??
"Hey he was part of the NATO bombing that killed poor Serbian children....waaaaa!!!!"
F**K YOU.
Parents who loved Slobo the fucking butcher more than their childrens future is what killed those poor little Serbian bastards. Parents who were in love with their insane zealotry is what killed those poor little Serbian bastards. Parents who had pathetic gray matter saturated with medieveal ignorance is what killed those poor little Serbian bastards.
"Clark killed widdo chidwen." Youre right. He killed children of people who would have killed tens of thousands of more children had Clark done nothing. I take it "christian" children are more important to you than muslim children. For every one "christian" child Clark "personally" killed, Clark saved fifty muslim children. Now let's take religion and insanity (but I repeat myself) out of the equation: For every child Clark personally killed, he saved forty-nine.
Now I give you your turn:
"They should have used diplomacy." Bullshit.
"I guess you are for the bombing in Iraq." Fuck your ignorance.
"So you trust career military men?!!" Eisenhower was the one who warned us about the miltary industrial complex.
Go pick some flowers and write poetry if you want to live in la-la land. Clark will decimate and destroy and annihilate (all wonderful war-like military terms to further annoy you Clark=Killer people) Bush and Cheney.
Haha.

There are many decaffinated brands out there that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Take a deep breath and think before hitting that "post message" button.

BTW the way while were on a rehash...
Could you tell us about the 170 or so Serb villages burned and destroyed by the KLA when during the 'bombing' campaign?
Milo is convicted right...I mean the EU's case is solid? Yugoslavia was partitioned or anything like that, right?
There were 'rape camps' and stuff, huh?
British ITV didn't fake footage of concentration camps, no?

I mean that WAR was completely correct--as opposed to Iraq or Panama or a few dozen others...

Just wanted to get clear on these various 'imperialist' aggressions and figure out which one was a 'good fight' and which was were...well...'imperialist' adventures
Oh yeah...the US needs a General again to be President

9. One of the worst threads ever seen on DU -- ignorant, bullying, boorish.
One of the funniest things about this thread is that the author -- who expresses himself in written English like a high-school dropout, & opts for the verbal style of a thug -- considers it his right to call OTHERS "ignorant!" Well, on an anonymous Internet site, I guess one can get away with that.

The only value in this post is the insight it offers into the mindset of Clark supporters: a very simple view of the world, unconstrained by any knowledge of it.

Arguing with such people does no good, anyway, since a lot of the time all they want to do is to provoke an argument in the first place.

Look at his statement: he calls all Clark supporters 'simpleminded,' or something to that effect. The opinion of anyone who would swallow that nonsense isn't worth fighting over, anyway.

In fact, there are several hysterics just like him I've been resisting the urge to put on ignore; now that the dam is broken, I think I'll let the water flow. It will make my time here much more enjoyable.

21. Just a curious question-
Do you agree with the originator of this thread? I'm not going make an assumption that you do just because they claim to support the same candidate you do, so I'm asking.

My personal opinion? A blast like that one is the same thing, an open invitation to be flamed. Silly me, I prefer civilized debate to lunatic rantings, but hey, I've always said I'm a freak. The original post implies that basically if you support Clark EVERYONE else is the *enemy*.

Since I support Kucinich but happen to have a lot of respect for Clark, that kind of stuff bothers me.

Anyway, just some food for thought. Have a good night.

I don't doubt the intellectual honesty of Clark supporters at all. I disagree with them on most things - but this is America - that's okay!

I think the post only says something about this particular Clark supporter. Nothing else.

12. That's some nice ethnic hatred there Mr. B [/chief Wiggum]
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 10:13 PM by JVS
Look, I don't usually come to the aid of Serbia. Serbia's actions in the last 15 years have not been good. Additionally I found the coup in which Milosevic was replaced to be a cosmetic change in power. "The first was a rearrangement of power within the ruling elite, replacing a tainted Milosevic with Vojislav Kostunica, an advocate of Milosevic's “Greater Serbia” project who had stood aloof from the barbarism needed to create it." http://www.greenleft.org.au/back/2000/427/427p26.htm
In my experience with Serbians I've met, they will start getting in my face about America's Kosovo actions even though I had not turned the conversation towards politics (or at least non-German politics) in the slightest. My current view on Serbia is that it is not repentant for the ethnic atrocities that took place with the disintergration of Yugoslavia and that Serbia places the blame for the Kosovo war mainly at the feet of the USA and overlooks the role that the other NATO allies had in the conflict. I would imagine that the reason for this forgivness towards the other participants of the war is due to a desire of Serbia to become part of the EU eventually (http://www.serbia.sr.gov.yu/cms/view.php?id=400). Even though the European countries were the one's with the most incentive to intervene in Kosovo.

This having been said, your post displays a visceral anger towards the Serbian people. Here, try doing this: alter your paragraph to be about September 11th and change Serbians to Americans and Slobodan Milosovic to G.W. Bush. You might have several objections to this. You may say that Bush isn't the legitimate president and was not really elected, well neither was Milosevic. In fact, in 1996 he anulled election results that were unfavorable to him. The people of Serbia did not love Milosevic, but they did see their country as threatened and were loyal to their country. One could claim that during the wars Serbs were just "supporting the troops". The point is that these people's nationality does not make them completly accountable for the actions of their government and certainly does not make the killing of their children, or as you like to say those 'poor little Serbian bastards' correct.

And in fairness, Clark can be held accountable. Many of his supporters laud Clark for engineering a NATO victory without loss of any (I forget if it is allied or american) personel. How did he engineer this victory? By utilizing the massive NATO advantage in the air and avoiding the more evenly matched ground forces. The problem with using air-power in warfare is that it is massively destructive and rather imprecise. The consequence is that innocent civilians die. If you are going to give Clark praise for the 'bloodless' victory, you must acknowledge that he chose a method to achieve that victory that he knew would cause the death of innocent civilians.

On a more personal note, your post paints an ugly picture of Clark supporters, and you might want to consider that when you post in the future.

35. I have no visceral anger at Serbs
only at Serbs who are so fucking "proud" of being Serb, that they ENJOY killing others for that disgusting crime of being different from them.
Please deal with a fact: LESS innocent people are dead as a result of what we did to stop genocide. You said "bloodless"...I did not.
It was quite bloody. How would you have stopped the even BLOODIER crimes Slobo and his thugs were perpetrating?

Ugliness is in the eye of the beholder. I think non-fighting, get-along pink tutu dems is a pathetically ugly sight.

You said:

Replace "Slobo" with "Hussein" and "Serbian with Iraqi" and you would have fit right in with the Bush crowd on the Iraq war.

I do NOT believe in killing innocents for the "crimes" of their leaders!

By the way, what an incredibly immature post. Freedom of speech is one thing, disgusting language used against children, and your RACIST garbage against white Serbs make some of us want to run to the bathroom.

Long live FRY!

Hmm, your use of "crimes" in parentheses, sounds ike maybe you think it was questionable there was a crime against humanity going on. I hope you aren't that ignorant of what was happening.

You don't believe in decimating a regime bent on killing innocent people? Even when it is a fact LESS innocent people would end up dead by such an intervention? That's weird.

but it wasnt clark's fault, if anything, it was the media....and clinton's fault. the war could have ended much quicker had we put ground troops out right off.....but clinton couldnt have mustered the public support for that because the media did not talk enough about the situation....it was still gettin over monica.
