Emmylou Harris works with PETA to help provide dogs with shelter
PETA does such good work. Nice to find out Emmylou Harris supports them.

Country star Emmylou Harris has shown her caring side, by helping build kennels for the animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The 11-time Grammy winner took a break from her tour last week to construct dog houses at PETA's headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia.

<edit>

This isn't the first time that Harris, a dog lover who fosters dogs for her local humane society, has lent her support to a PETA campaign - in 2002, she wrote a letter on PETA's behalf to the animal shelter in Robeson County, North Carolina begging officials to stop abuses that had been caught on video.

1. Nothing wrong with helping stray animals
and Emmylou Harris has always been pretty cool, but PETA sucks. They go over the top. Can't support them anymore.

3. if PETA did more of these types of activities...
...more people would be willing to listen.

7. Hi Karmadillo...
As a member of PETA and a volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society, I always enjoy reading these articles! Thank you for sharing this. I really support the work PETA does with undercover video surveillance - I feel it exposes a level of cruelty against animals that people would never know about otherwise. :yourock:

8. Thank you and
thanks for your volunteer work. Reminds those of us who just contribute $ to PETA that's not enough. And I agree with you about the surveillance tapes. It's hard to believe people can be so cruel to animals. The videos make the truth a lot harder to avoid.

10. And boy she can SING too!
I do not like country music on the whole, but her Blue Kentucky Girl is a masterpiece of Americana.
