I think "DU This Poll" posts don't really do us any good...
The freeps have people watching DU and they turn right around and "freep" them and they delete cookies and vote over and over....and over. Hell, they even brag about how many times.
:eyes: :grr:
They cheat as a matter of unprinciple, few of us do that.

1. True, it is so easy to delete your cookies and repeat the votes...
or use a second or third computer. I pay more attention to the comments.

3. And if folks here are discouraged from voting
...it helps the other side all the more. Pfui!

I will continue to vote in online polls since our side has prevailed many, many times.

4. By and large I agree....
I think certain ones are worthy of having our opinions voiced in.

However, there are some that are ridiculous or which are worded so ambiguously that it's actually unclear what we would or should vote for in order to "DU" the poll.

6. Well, 55% of respondents think you're wrong.
(I'm kidding.) Most internet polls are useless, since they are not scientific. But I think the ones with results mentioned on TV have an effect, like propaganda: as if to say, don't you agree with the majority? For those, it is important to take a stand, as long as it's not too big a distraction..

7. They did that with the MSNBC poll about Kerry vs. SwiftVets
The question was "who do you believe?

It started out with about 60% believing what Kerry said about his service in Vietnam. Then we posted the link to the poll on DU, and suddenly Kerry's ratings went down. They posted the link on freerepublic and freeped the hell out of it, until it was down to about 31% believing Kerry told the truth.

However, by the end of the day, The poll was back to around 60% of people believing Kerry. I guess it depends how many people vote in these polls. The more people vote, the less impact DUers or Freepers have.

However, I still think it is important that we DU these polls. Later on MSNBC TV they mentioned the poll on their program, with something like 61% believing Kerry. The average viewer doesn't know how inaccurate these polls are, especially if not too many people have voted on it. If they would hear that 61% of voters do NOT believe Kerry, because some idiot freepers spent the whole day deleting cookies and voting, they might question Kerry's credibility.

9. Voting in online polls is a form of activism...
And I feel a responsibility to participate.
