OMFG! Faux News Trailer: Weathermen Will Attack During RNC

Can you believe it? I'm looking for confirmation somewhere reputable, but as I was surfing the channels, I saw this trailer on Faux. They're saying the Weathermen terror group that set off bombs in NYC a couple of decades ago are planning to do the same during the RNC. Do they even exist anymore?

This is just unbelievable fear mongering.

I posted a poll a couple of days ago asking what the new distraction would be to make the SBV fiasco go away for *. One of the options was to label NYers "terrorists." Not many people voted for that option, but it looks like this is one of the fronts the RNC is opening.

I fear for the demonstrators next week. The abuse is going to be tremendous. I even fear that people may get shot. Once you're labeled a *terrorist,* it's open season on your ass.

The Weathermen became defunct after they were killed in a homemade bomb explosion.

The spin-off group the Weather Underground, is also defunct. A couple are in jail, and the others have gone on to the radical retirement home. One's a college instructor, one owns a bar, don't know about the others.

Actually, I hope it is peaceful. i wish everyone would wear black and carry pictures of dead people - people killed by *'s greed-laden policies - ala the Anti-choice freaks who insist on showing us dead human matter. The local news radio had a commentary on this morning about the "violent clashes expected" -- their words exactly -- in NYC next week. What the fuck is going on? What's wrong with people?

I too fear people may be shot. The media -- many outlets, not just RWNB outlets -- are putting it in peoples' minds that protests will turn violent. They're setting the scene. "See, we told you." Fuck.

I know, I was there in other radical groups of the time trying to coordinate with them. But to me a vigil would be a more effective way to get our point across.
I know protests will take place and should take place. I'm just looking for the most effective means to put as much egg on as many repug faces as possible. They're looking for blood in the streets. Show the world and more importantly a few independent voters that we're not a bunch of rioting thugs. To me that would be an effective way to get our message across and make the fear mongering repugs look foolish.

Will that happen? Probably not. Just be prepared to deal with repug instigators in the crowd just like they do here.

this is like deja vu all over again. They aren't that old, but they all seem like they have pretty much moved on with thier lives, although there were a few that I suspect would support a bit of chaos at the convention.
