reads as follows .....BU LL SH IT

Greenville had its big yearly Danish Festival this weekend and a vendor selling his wares saw my wifes button and from a distance only saw BU..SH.. and thought of course she was a * supporter. He said "Oh I see your voting for * !!! Her standard comeback is "Yep... voting to get him out of office!" He looked closer and read the true message and looked at her and asked her why? She is a head start teacher for at risk families. The company that she works for is laying off two very needed teachers. So my wife explained to this man how in the "No child left behind" the only thing left behind was the funding. He didn't know what to say... and as we were walking away he YELLED out... "Well, we are at war!".... I couldn't see him anymore... but I yelled back... "And who started it?"

I love her button... she gets so many people to comment on it.. but the funniest are the * supporters ... LOL... their eye brighten up and they smile...the funny looks as they realize what it really says...The Democrats that see it.. always comment on it... One vendor this weekend.. said it made his day. :-)

1. So the only excuse he could offer her...
Was "We're at war", huh?:eyes:

Perhaps that guy needs to think of another Michigander, Lila Lipscomb...SHE paid quit a price for this "war" we're in!

I'm really proud of your "better half" for wearing that button...she can let 'em cheer it...or LET 'EM HAVE IT!

B-)

from a chance to educate people... (I guess that is why she is a teacher)... She is a very independant person and I am very fortunate to call her my wife. :kick:

I agree with your comment on Lila L. I have been tempted to drive to Flint and find her... and give her a big hug. I did hear that she appeared in person at a few theater in Michigan when F-911 first came out....that would have been awesome.

3. Response to "Well, we're at war..."
If "Well, we're at war..." is used regarding Bush's failure to fund his No Child Left Behind program, just remind them that we weren't at war when the program was announced and funding failed to show up. In fact, we were in much better economic shape then, and funding didn't show up. If Bush wasn't going to stand behind his word to our children then, when did he INTEND to?
