Family Circle Magazine warned of upcoming Draft
I just heard this on the radio - Chris Moore KDKA, so forgive me if posted before. So even a mainstream mag is warning of this. This has to hit the soccer moms.

http://www.gjusa.com/news/pressReleaseDetails.jsp?id=4141

There hasn’t been a draft in the United States since 1973 yet the July 13 issue of Family Circle (on newsstands June 15-July 13) warns of strong indications that suggest a change may be in store next year. And if two bills in the House and Senate, authored by Charles Rangel (D-NY) and Ernest Hollings (D-SC), pass, young women as well as men could expect to be called to serve.

Why a return to the draft? The magazine reports the opinions of politicians and military experts who say that because our military is spread so thinly (we currently have troops stationed in two-thirds of the world’s countries), the high casualty rates in Iraq and Afghanistan and, the fact that, according to Congressman Charles Rangel (D-NY) “half of Guards and reservists say they have no intention to stay in” are strong indicators that “ultimately we will run out of bodies.”

<snip>

What can parents do? Family Circle suggests the following options:

Call the Capitol in Washington D.C., (202.224.3121) or go to the Web sites www.house.gov and www.senate.gov for your congressman’s address or e-mail. Write him/her about your concern.

You are legally entitled to block your children’s names, addresses and phone number from being given to military recruiters by their schools. To do this, mail a letter to the school district headquarters (preferably by certified mail), with a copy to the school principal, directing that no information about your child be released to armed forces representatives.

1. That article states that Rove asked the GOP Congress if they
would support a DRAFT if Bush asks for it and they said they would.

THe Dem bills are protest bills and will NEVER be passed. The real action is the MOCK DRAFT LOTTERY TO BE HELD BY THE SSS VERY SOON.

They are even going to be mailing out MOCK EXAMINATION ORDERS.

If BUSH IS RESELECTED, expect the first real lottery to be June, 2005, by which time they'll also have offices open around the country.

3. I'm glad to see this in such a mag
because I'm sure it reaches a great many people, even people who don't subscribe always see this one in the doctor's office...so the word will spread among those who are not regulars on the internet or otherwise well informed!
