At least Coulter isn't a closet anything; she makes certain pretense about having thought things through, but she's an honest partisan. (Vicious, insane, evil, narcissistic and unprincipled, but straightforward about her affiliation.)

O'Reilly's a dick, but dismissable and easily identified as a partisan.

Matthews is a self-aggrandizing above-it-all "freethinker", when in reality he's a bought-and-paid-for mouthpiece who embodies the smug superiority of the conservative: "I'm doing well because I'm better than you are and you're just pathetic."

He's a liar of the worst sort and he's a belittling, snarling bully. That perfunctory, false matter-of-fact "masculinity" is ultrarevolting. If there's any doubt about his true character, just track down Jon Stewart's interview of him from "The Daily Show", it's got all of the personality traits of the conservative: laughing at the inferior, reveling in the misfortune of others and being cluelessly full of himself. There's something to be said for structuralism here too: anyone with that nasty a laugh can't be much of a person. Creeeepy.

At its best, journalism is selfless; even though that's apparently a bygone concept now, he's one of the worst.

A "whore" is someone who will sacrifice principals for selfish gain -- that's Tweety. He'll play "left" or "right" depending on the audience, the situation, etc. He's a whore for attention, ratings etc. He can't be counted on to stand for anything he really believes in.

Coulter and some of the other rightwingnuts are much more repulsive, but not whores. They're ideological automatons who will lie and say anything to defend they're position. That's the extreme opposite of somone like Tweety who will whore for whatever side can garner him the most attention, ratings, spotlight, money, etc. He's a shapeshifting, split-personality, two-faced, back-stabbing WHORE.

Let's put it this way: Matthews is the last person on that list I'd count on if I were with them on the frontlines in a war -- he' go right to the enemy. The others, as much as I dislike most of them, are loyal to the side they fight for.
