Watched McGovern vs Woolsey last night on Charlie Rose
(I don't know if this was a repeat - first guest was Joe Biden who did a reasonable job, then Robert Greenwald talking about Uncovered, and finally McGovern vs Woolsey)

I realize Rose leans right (though not as much as some other hosts), but last night he showed his true spirit. Not in what he said while "moderating" a debate between Ray McGovern and James Woolsey (re: Uncovered), because he pretty much kept his mouth shut the whole time, other than to ask questions and follow up certain subjects. It was the way he moderated - he let Woolsey talk and talk and talk without any interruption, so much so that the split between them was probably 2/3 (or more) Woolsey, and 1/3 McGovern. This in spite of the fact that every point Woolsey made McGovern dismantled or discredited. He even pointed out that it was Woolsey that introduced Curveball to the intelligence community. That was sweet. Too bad it wasn't a fair debate time-wise.

1. Don't you hate that? If there were only some way
rose would get called on it. Like McGovern's team showing charlie the debate time line.

And, please, what is "Curveball"?

3. Curveball
the discredited Iraqi informant

MORE CHALABI SPIES....A couple of months ago Bob Drogin of the LA Times broke the story of "Curveball," a key Iraqi informant who showed up in a German refugee camp and claimed that he had built biological warfare trucks for the Iraqi army. Only later did the CIA learn that he was actually the brother of one of Ahmed Chalabi's top aides and had probably been coached to provide false information.

2. The same thing happened in Krugman vs O'Reilly on Russert
My (slightly more moderate than me) husband remarked on the fact that O'Reilly was allowed to dominate, interrupt and filibuster all over Krugman for the whole hour, and Russert just sat there and allowed it.

It seems to be something the repukes all learn in thug-school.
