2. Was a brief segment on Lou Dobbs about "think tanks" in general...

They started out highlighting the PNAC and how their 3 year old recommendations were adopted by the Bush Administration. Then moved on to list other think tanks and talk in general terms about concerns over their influence on Gov't.

It wasn't a critical investigation of the PNAC and the claims/actions of the Bush administration as much as I would hoped, but at least it was something.

I've never seen PNAC discussed in the mainstream media anywhere.

It is just that they just so happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right policy. My words, not theirs.

And Lou did point out that Cheney Wolfowitz etal were part of the leadership of PNAC.

Mentioned who was part of PNAC: Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney, etc. etc. and said BASICALLY THEIR VISION OF AMERICA IS WHAT HAS BEEN CREATED UNDER BUSH... mentioned it... went to another think tank..... BUT THEY DID SAY IT. How many Americans got it? Not many, I guess.

11. Nightline did a report about PNAC a year and a half ago

The group, the Project for the New American Century, or PNAC, was founded in 1997. Among its supporters were three Republican former officials who were sitting out the Democratic presidency of Bill Clinton: Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz.

In open letters to Clinton and GOP congressional leaders the next year, the group called for "the removal of Saddam Hussein's regime from power" and a shift toward a more assertive U.S. policy in the Middle East, including the use of force if necessary to unseat Saddam.

And in a report just before the 2000 election that would bring Bush to power, the group predicted that the shift would come about slowly, unless there were "some catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor."

...but it's about time CNN and Dobbs mentioned it. They only had neocons on, well, almost everyday when I still watched CNN. Does Dobbs still bring on Richard Perle and John Fund to discuss Iraq?
