Just discovered it in the L.A. Times. (Free registration required.)

Photos, where available on the soldiers, with a report on each one linked.

I believe it is 273 killed since the beginning of military operations in Iraq. Since aWol's airplane stunt where he declared victory the last count I saw yesterday was 135 killed. Either way it still sucks. It is good to see the LA Times acknowledge these people.

2. leftchick, you're very kind to point that out.
I really was a little scrambed on that, and luckily, I was able to change it in time.

Thanks a lot. :hi:

3. It depends if they are going by notifications.
Officially, 135 familes have been notified since May 1. Here's a link for a site that says 282 dead in Op. Iraq Free; they are listed by date of death.

4. Anyone do a list of wounded??
I know it would be in the thousands or more. Some minor, some very severe with arms and legs blown off. So far it only seems that your a casualty of Chimpboys illegal invasion if you die...

6. Only thing I could find was an article from CNN, dated 7-10
(snip) Responding to a request by CNN, the Pentagon said more than 1,000 U.S. troops have been wounded or injured in Iraq since March 20, when a U.S.-led airstrike started the war.

The Defense Department provided these figures:

• 791 troops were wounded or injured during combat

• 253 troops were wounded or injured in action not related to combat operations, such as traffic accidents or accidental gunshot wounds

The Pentagon not disclose the type of wounds or injuries sustained. But the numbers shed more light on the overall toll the fighting has taken on U.S. troops during the war and subsequent occupation of the country.

(snip/...)

Not TOO helpful, of course. Information will probably ALWAYS be completely vague, if they can manage it.

5. You mean "complete list of all those REPORTED killed."
There are more than reported and I hope any families that fail to see on the list the names of their loved ones whom they know are dead or "missing" will notify their local media.
