An astounding conversation with a WWII vet
Edited on Thu Jul-10-03 10:21 PM by dsc
In my summer job today I met a WWII vet at his house and noticed a "This Home Votes Democrat" sign in his window. I stuck up a conversation with him and it was very interesting. First he is a retired high ranking union official who had a picture of President Clinton on his wall (with a personal note below). He is currently torn between Dean, Kerry, and Lieberman and wishes literature from all three. I took care of Dean but if you know the contact info for Kerry and Lieberman please either PM me, email me, or post it in this thread. I will forward his addy to them. He does not have access to a computer so he needs literature.

What was astounding was that he echoed much of the sentiment here (though he had never been here). He compared the administration to the early years of Hitler. He wants Dems to fight back. He called the election stolen. We are not this isolated fringe that some would have you believe. I just thought you would get a kick out of this.

3. Sorry I left that out
Afghanistan is worse than it was three years ago and in a couple of years we will have a Vietnam like mess on our hands in Iraq. Also he compared Bush's rationale for 'safety' to Johnson's domino theory.
