my email to ChristianExodus.org.
for those of you unfamiliar with CE, it is a christian group trying to pack South Carolina's legislature and secede from the union by 2020(ish). here's their site: http://christianexodus.org/

<< i read your website with great interest, but had a few practical questions that werent answered in your FAQ section, so i thought i'd ask you personally.

1)assuming that the US lets you secede without conflict, will you trade with it and other nations?

2)if so, what would you import and export?

3)would you create a new currency?

4)would you have a military or other defensive force?

5)how would you address the potential for terrorist attacks against your openly christian country by islamic radicals?

6)would other religions be illegal, or merely frowned upon?

7)and, finally- what is this "war of Northern Agression" you refer to? i recall learning about a civil war between the northern industrialized states, and the southern slave-based states.

thanks for any help.>>

I wonder if they've thought about any of those yet.

1. I always wondered why they picked SC
Why not pick a sparsely populated state...like Montana or Wyoming...where they could take over faster.

4. i'd prefer delaware for them personally.
smaller land mass, huge congregation of banks, not really much to see or do there, an easier place to wipe out in war, next to the sea therefore easier to isolate from contaminating other parts of usa, greater difficulty to build infractstructure to support large population, far less natural resources, etc. all in all i'd much prefer a takeover of delaware. but if they want south carolina, well... at least they are isolated. a few military divisions or two should be able to clean out the area during their attempt at secession. but it'd be much easier if it was in delaware...

5. I'd give them two choices:
Block Island, R.I. - true, this would deprive the rest of us of a pleasant island vacation spot, but some infrastructure would be in place already, though things would likely become a bit crowded.

Montague Island, AK - It's a bit rainy and barren, but this substantial landmass south of Prince William Sound would be a more spacious abode. Passing fishing boats and Coast Guard cutters would help the fundies keep from getting too lonely!

7. so they are going to attempt to take over
the SC legislature so they can secede the state of SC?

So, they have No conflict with the fact that they all will move to SC and use the people of that States tax dollars and in the process try to take over the SC legislator?

Figures, they'd pick a red state I'm sure SC gets more back than blue states in federal dollars.

Are these the same people that tell us if we don't like it (America) we can just leave?

I think this would be a good muckraking gig for a reporter to sink their teeth into.
The reporter should infiltrate the organization get all information on this organization and inform the people of SC and the country.

Something similar to what Barbara Ehrenreich did with "Nickeled and Dimed" on (Not) Getting By In America.

The thing is if you live in SC you have got to confront these people from the get go and you can't wait for a reporter to do the work or these wackos will take over.

This right here is a fine example as to why I have a problem with religion they won't leave well enough alone it's their way or no way.
