I shit you not this was copied and pasted directly from their e-mail.

Hidden Democratic Game Plan for 527s

If you thought the idea behind the 527s has been to buy TV ads attacking George Bush, you're wrong.

BusinessWeek revealed their hidden strategy in a small item that received little press attention. But it caught our eye.

So far, the pro-Kerry 527s have spent $33 million on TV ads bashing Bush.

But the same 527s, backed by Bush-hating billionaires like George Soros, have spent more than triple that amount - some $85 million -- on registering new (read Democratic) voters.

These voter registration drives are below the radar screen, but may prove decisive for the Democrats on Election Day.

Steve Rosenthal, head of one of the leading 527s, Americans Coming Together, says, "There has never been anything like this magnitude of voter contact in history."

Rosenthal doesn't lie. The Republicans -- already on track to be outspent by the Democrats by 2 to 1 -- have not mounted any comparative effort.

There is no hard data on how effective the grassroots voter efforts have been so far, but NewsMax hears that the 527s are pouring millions into building get-out-the-vote operations in two states: Florida and Ohio.
*************************************************************

So registering voters is a bad thing? Oh Lord, people might actually vote in this election. This is hilarious, and just more proof that the neo-fascists hate democracy.

3. Falwell was bragging about that yesterday in the friendly confines
of Thomas Rhodes Baptist Church. He went on to say that pastor's shouldn't fear being stripped of their tax exempt status for politicking in church. Jerry said that he knew only one case where the rule was enforced "and that was just for one day".

2. Registered voters are Bush hating boogeymen. If Pete Coor's grandpappy
had his way, only the movers and shakers would have the right to vote.

7. This is probably the first time that I've hoped Newsflax is right.
I can see why they're concerned, more voters is always a bad thing for the GOP.

8. Actually, when registering people to vote, you can't be selective.
No matter who you work for, you can't refuse to take a form from someone who disagrees with you (though the other side has been known to do this) nor to give them a form....

But Melodybe... sweetie.... your post implies a redundancy.... stupidest thing + newsmax??

What were you expecting?

Pcat

9. Yeah, but I thought it was funny enough to share.

I also just e-mailed it to a repub friend of mine. He is actually more liberal with most of his views, but his family is part of that 1% of the population that is all for Bushco.

He is even starting to distance himself from the party, saying things like, "Why do you just automatically assume that I am a gung-ho republican?"

Anyway I sent him an e-mail much like my post above. Once the party's supporters start looking crazy they immediately start to fall out of favor with the mainstream.

I think that this e-mail is a perfect example of how crazy and non-democratic these people are. As that Randy Rhodes caller would say, "Hezbella! Hezbella!"

The repubs are all going insane.

I agree about voter registration, I have registered a few folks that I know are not democrat. But it doesn't matter, at the very least I appreciate their desire to participate in our government.

However, I have registered a lot more democrats.
