<snip>

HUNTS POINT, WASH. - Several hundred protesters awaiting President Bush's arrival at a private fund-raiser here derided his record on the environment, the war in Iraq and administration policies they said are gutting basic civil liberties.

2. Yayyy -- I mean Booo -- I mean, whatever
Time for the Chimp to face the truth. He has no true support at all from loyal and discerning Americans. Time to resign.

Sayonara. Don't let the door hit your ass on your way out.

5. Quite a contrast to Bill Clinton's receptions!
People didn't pose a threat to Bill Clinton, he could jog down the street everyday!

8. One mile safety zone? How far are they going to have to keep Bush
from people to keep the protesters off camera. How far would you go to participate in a protest?

9. I was 30 feet away from Bush when his limo passed me
on the 520 floating bridge. I felt a wave of evil passing over me as he sped by preceded and followed by dozens of police and official vehicles.

Even the traffic announcer on KVI (rightwing hate radio station here) was angered by Bush shutting down traffic for miles for a fundraiser and one of the talk show hosts was suggesting that the White House pay for the cost of his visit to the local governments.

No one on the bridge that I saw was waving or doing anything positive as the motorcade passed by. I don't care what the pundits or polls say, THIS IS NOT A POPULAR PRESIDENT.

10. don't count on any reimbursement
Cheney left behind a $15,500 "tab" after his $1000/plate fundraiser in my town. And he raised $175,000. This was for a completely private event, no public access whatsoever. And our city's stuck with it. Similar stories from other towns too.

11. You are right.
These people would not even give a cracker to a starving child, much less reimburse a city for THEIR fundraising expenses.

15. Not a starving child, but
I think these sick fucks would give a cracker to a child who is dying of thirst.

12. That sounds like a good story for the national media. It ties in with the
underfunding of local emergency response that Bush promised. You could add the campain tab to the emergency response tab.

13. Portland is sending the White House an INVOICE for expenses
incurred from a White House visit. God, sometimes I just want to pick up and move to Oregon.

I have a feeling this will get some national coverage.

14. It won't make the news. The Pubs are the news.
Come, we go make signs and Bumper stickers.

Bush is NOT Gods friend.
