Stupid Question: What happened to Mike Wallace?

I've been a little behind the times.

1. Heard he was arrested

something about double parking, picking up some take out, getting snippy with a cop, handcuffs, station house...

Ahhh, I am so glad I live in a tiny village. If anybody double parked (would take an effort to find a way to do that) to pick up some take out, the sheriff would say "Take out?!!? Where'd ya find THAT?"

3. The answer is actually far "stupider" than the question.

Mike ordered some takeout meatloaf from a bar and grill and he had his limo "double-park" in the street while he went inside to pick up his order. When Mike got back to the car he found these rent-a-cops from some bogus "taxi and limosine regulating" something or other harrassing his driver. The rent a cops claim that Wallace lunged at them, so they cuffed him and took him to the nearest precinct. Mike was home in time for dinner, but he still has a court date apparently.

Sounds completely ridiculous, but I'll bet it will make a great piece for 60 Minutes.

7. same as anybody else: the can make a citizen's arrest

and transfer custody to the real police asap.

8. Apparently Mike Wallace is something of a prick,

based on some of the things people have said about him in the past. That doesn't mean that we don't have yet another case of a little man with a big badge wanting to prove to himself what a Wyatt Earp hardass he is. But just because Mike Wallace is really old doesn't mean he can't be a loudmouthed, nasty, belligerent asshole who probably deserved to be run in. I'm not saying that he is, I'm just saying that it has been alleged.
