The latest from the Christian right: Kerry is the anti-Christ
My mother runs a church in the Twin Cities metro area in Minnesota. It's a non-demoninational type venue, with people from all walks of life. Occasionally, they'll sponsor a missionary or two. Well, last time I visited my mother, she told me about the latest missionary family that they hosted. After explaining how they were very nice and friendly (she's quite the optimist), she said that they had caused a bit of an uproar among several church members at an event by announcing that any person that doesn't have it in their heart to support George W. Bush and/or vote for him is under control of the anti-Christ, and that they are un-Christian to do so.

How can anybody even think this?

12. This kind of crap is going on with my sister's non-denominational church
They're finally starting to see through the blind allegiance to Bush's policies and constant bashing of gays.

Mind you, I'm no doctor, but that seems like a good prescription for what ails 'em.

5. To be a Satanist you have to be Christian
Pagans don't believe in Satan.

Bush knows he can't win on facts so he's playing the only card he's got, i.e., hatriotism.

9. Which PROVES George IS the Anti-Christ!!!
Or just plays him on TV. Remember, they never accuse Dems of anything they're not guilty of - show these people where Bush's comments on that aircraft carrier are the very same words Jesus used to declare HE was the Messiah!!!

10. They update their Anti-Christ list every election.
It's a pretty good way to select who to vote for. Been voting for the various anti-christ's in every election since 1966. Alas, not enough of them have gotten elected to really wield their commie, socialist, hippy, librul, power.

18. anyone they don't like becomes the anti-christ
How many of them are there, exactly?

For instance, did you know that Prince Charles is the anti-christ?
Something about the symbols on his coat of arms, being descended from Jews...something. It's easy to find on an internet search.

20. Supposing this were true ...
... they should be *supporting* Kerry for president. After all,
the Anti-Christ coming to 'power' is all part of the end times sh*t. It's means Jesus' return is all-the-more imminent. That's why they support Israel, conflict in the Middle East, etc.

Just so you know ... Long ago I believed in this stuff, but not any more.

E.

24. IMHO Bush is more likely the ANTICHRIST....Because....
We all know the religious right have tossed away Jesus and now worship BUSH as their Lord and Savior....they believe him infallible, defend him with the same (if not more so) fervor as Jesus and have the same "heathen" contempt for the non-believers....however, this is Why BUSH is the antichrist and NOT the messiah

-- has access to and uses the largest and most powerful military arsenal (the antichrist would need that, the messiah would not)
-- desire to use that might and influence to reshape the world according to his own (neocon) plan (again, the messiah would simply speak and change the world)
-- able to fool a great many people, even the elect (religous right), into believing things that are bad to be good, highly illogical things to be logical and even self destructive things to be beneficial
-- arrogant, boastful, confident in violent or combative solutions to any problem
-- is contemptous of virtue yet claims to be a christian.
-- is restarting the concept of acceptable nuclear exchanges in war (would the Messiah do that?)
-- is wanting to emasculate all other countries' ability to defend themselves against our own WMDs. Why do that unless your ultimate goal is world domination?
-- Lies (or if you prefer misleads) continually and without ceasing -- not something the Messiah would desire or need to do.
-- is unconcerned about approval from other allies, spends a great amount of time maligning others
-- has surrounded himself with treasonous felons, a cabal of unsavory demons in human form :)

in short, I think this tips their hand. Repuglians have always committed some offense and then blamed Democrats for exactly the same offense they're guilty of.

For repugs to now start accusing Kerry of being the antichrist, that means Bush actually is.

28. And was this "Christian" a paid GOP operative?
You know that this wacky Fundie fake Christian churches are parts of Karl Rove's game plan. They pay people to infiltrate sites on the web, they paid the "protestors" in Florida when they stole the election, and I have no doubt they are paying people such as this to keep the simple-minded "Christians" on track.
People who operate on belief systems are the easiest to fleece.

They're not scripture. They need to look into the PNAC and consider the implications of their ideas, but they are too focused on the UN being the anti-christ's power base.

32. Always accusing others of what they are themselves!
Always! Nazis, Commies, Busheviks, Khmer Rouge, all the same in this regard.

The AntiChrist shall convince the masses that he is a Man of God while following Satan.

Believer or not, that description fits the Emperor Bunnypants* to a tee!

As to how they could do it, ask yourself this: How could the Nazi, standing in the center of Auschwitz, believe himself to be oppressed and victimized by the Jews.

Same answer. Same thing. Same kinds of people.

beware if our Kinderr and Genlter Bushevik Nazis EVER get the same unchecked power as the originals.

Only THEN will we find out what they are ultimately capable of.

and/or pentecostal.

When I moved back to Tulsa, I did a fast, unscientific scan of the churches listed in the yellow pages. I think more than 80% of the churches listed were either southern baptist or 'non-denominational.' Some were members of one of the various Assembly of God denominations.

In Tulsa, 2 of the largest churches in town are 'non-denominational'--Billy Joe and Sharon Doughtery's Victory Christian and Carlton Pearson's Higher Dimensions. All 3 are graduates of Tulsa's Oral Roberts University.

They (the fundies) read scripture very selectively, managing to ignore\forget the Sermon on the Mount and Beatitudes.
