I also pity John McCain. He is a true war hero and actually a decent man. Yet, his performance over the last few weeks is so whore-ish that I just stand here slack-jawed. I could not in good conscience campaign for a man who had slandered my miltary record (while being a deserter himself) and used the race card against my children for politcial gain. Very sad, indeed!

And *, placed in the dominant position in the photo, is facing outward toward the "cruel world," is comforting the wayward, love-starved child in need of security.

Sad to say that this image is actually rather powerful -- probably not a rehearsed moment, but one that BushCo obviously cherishes nonetheless.
