The Propaganda War in the U.S. Army
Edited on Sat Aug-23-03 08:26 AM by Why

One hundred and fifty-eight soldiers reenlisted on July 4th, 2003 at Saddam's Palace in Mosul, Iraq.

-----------------------

OK. I'm about to :puke:. They'd have you believe that folks are re-upping left, right, and sideways. Bullshit. This is probably three months of retention traffic at this photo-op, and mostly lifers at that. What they don't tell you is how many first-termers are in that group. Bet that's classified.

Aw, fark! Mods, PLEASE move this to GD. My bad.

...when I click on this post? Don't know why? But it leads back to a DOD certificate problem. What site did you post from?

3. Same here
It's a certificate for the US Army site, since the image is directly linked from it.

5. IT at DoD is asleep at the switch.
This is the initial logon screen for Army Knowledge Online. People affiliated in some way with the Army (like me) can logon, but any schmuck can look at the logon screen, and the photo, which leads me to believe it's unclassified.

6. Photo looks like a spoof of some fascist ritual
That architecture is too much, and the saluting soldiers all perfectly lined up on the stairs and balcony.

Don't they see what this looks like, or do they WANT it to look that way?

Must have looked exactly this way when the guys re-upped for Saddam.
