Laura Bush speech on stem cell research is fodder for Dems.
This is the statement from Tweety tonight. His first question was "Why would the Pubs put Laura out there with that speech? It is a direct rebuttle to Ron Reagan Jr. and Nancy too."

If Tweety is right for a change, how could Kerry beat up on the Pubs without looking like they were beating up on the Presidents wife? We all think it's wrong when they make comments about Teresa, so I think we have to stick with that and not beat up on Laura.

2. How About A Debate Of First Ladys
Could Theresa beat up on her in a debate? She could always choose one of five languages to debate her in.

6. Thanks! I like that! Maybe debate in Italian?
Heck, Teresa could debate in english and beat Laura easily.

4. I guess....
you didn't hear Tweety's final comment?(paraphrasing here)...I guess
the dems have to go after a woman on this one..and what a shame that will be"...I guess it's only a shame when you go after certain woman right Tweety....I cant recall the same outrage when the right goes after the next first lady.

7. Or the last First Lady, huh? Remember how they treated Hillary?
You know it wouldn't be treated that way though. Hillary & Teresa are STRONG women...poor little Laura is just a housewife admiring her man. ARGUHHHHH

5. Fuck Laura
And I don't think it's wrong when they beat up on Teresa... the subject and point of the attack matters. Laura is promoting ignorance over science, death over healing, despair over hope. Teresa merely made an off color remark. There's a HUGE difference.

Laura's an ignorant cnut.

8. Laura on Bush as friend to patients in Bucks County
I was contacted today by the Philadelphia Inquirer, which will be publishing the following letter this week:

Re "Laura Bush gets doctors' support in Bucks visit" (8/9 by Leslie A.
Pappas), how dare she say that her husband is on the side of patients! The
number of uninsured Americans has never been higher, an extraordinarily
expensive Medicare prescription program that benefits nearly no one has been
crammed through an unwilling Congress, and patients' costs for health
insurance and medicine keep rising at double-digit rates.
And given that the Pennsylvania Medical Society has endorsed her
husband, the perpetrator of these miseries, I'm led to wonder whether its
members are on the side of us patients.

9. Aaron Brown got a dig in last night
he played Laura's comments about how dishonest it is for us to say stem cell research will help Alzhimers, Brown said: I don't think anyone who supports stem cell research says it will help Alzhimers. They say it will help Parkinson's and juvenile diabetes.

13. Precisely--there is compelling evidence that it will help
both, and I am on a trial list for diabetes.

I thought it was very interesting that she went after Alzheimer's. Nancy may send her next donation to the alzheimer's Association rather than the DNC.

10. That's why they had the drapery queen go out and make a speech
on stem cell research. So that it would look 'bad' if anyone picked on poor Laura. That way bush* can get his ignorant biased scientifically unsound message out to his supporters, and he can hide behind her at the same time.

Not meaning to sound mean spirited but if bad taste in clothes and husbands were a criminal offense, Laura would be facing the death penalty.

12. Actually, there was a female dem congressperson on Tweety and
she said that Laura is a wonderful person, wife, and probably very well educated but this type of scientific discussion is better left to scientists... and they say there is a lot of promise in this research. I think she did a great job! (sorry, don't remember her name).
