Terror Alert tied to this crappy Jobs Report??
I wouldn't put it past him at this point.

This jobs report may the defining moment that finally sinks the bastard, the final point where his reelection bid "jumped the shark".

1. No, I think the technique was reversed this time
It's possible they rushed the Smearboat Vets thing out early, in an effort to get ahead of the disastrous job numbers.

They know they've badly damaged their credibility on terror alerts, so they can't go there so close on the heels of the NY/NJ/DC alert.

The Smearboat ad seems like something they'd trot out at the very last minute. But maybe, as they started to compile the job numbers and it became clear they were undeniably awful, they moved the ad to the front of the queue. Emptying all their rounds, so to speak, in desperation.

That's the Intelligent Design theory. It could also be that they're just nucking futs after 3 and a half years of virtually unchallenged power, and have lost whatever political "touch" they once posessed. That would be the Rocky III theory. ;)
