Did you catch Coulter in Scarborough? Channel surfing, she was
complaining about the liberal media...If SHE who is a published, famous opinion writer cannot get her column published, what is going to happen to all those young right wingers????
And Scarborough agreed with her...and indicated that he really liked her column...and that USA today did not understand her "humor"... I didn't stay around any longer...2 and a half minutes was more than I could handle.

3. "understand her humor"
Could I be mistaken? Was that a dig on Ann the Man? Hell, even I think she's funny. Insane ramblings like hers make for some hilarious reading. The woman is totally insane. Is Killer Joe taking a swipe at her by calling her nothing more than humorous?

25. Reason I Asked...
There was a discussion that this Swiftboat scam will backfire in a way that will lead many military...active and veterans to bail on the Repugnicans once and for all. And you might have an example right there.

This boy has really done a number on one of his most loyal constituencies. In 2000 the military vote was his in a nice ribbon. Remember how they were pushing absentee ballots on military bases...they were that confident. Not now.

Later this week I'm having lunch with an old friend who was in the Marines...sweeping through that same Mekong Delta about the time Lt. Kerry was. In 2000 he was staunch Repugnican...that began to change with the invasion, then with Bunnypants AWOL and all the other crap that's happened this year, our lunch could be quite interesting.

I plan to provide plenty of liquid refreshment...he's more fun that way.

Cheers!

27. Cheers! Ought to be interesting!
My husband was in DeNang?? Although he doesn't like how Kerry is not going after the Bush administration like he thinks he ought to, the fact that Kerry went brings respect from my huband to Kerry. He said he will support him for going AND for standing up against the Vietnam war when he knew it wasn't right. My husband said he volunteered at the time because he felt he owed this country for a good life here in America and thought it was the right thing to do to serve his country. After he arrived in Vietnam and saw all of the bigbusinesses there making money, he knew it wasn't anything but a businessman's war and he felt like a pawn. He never wanted to leave so bad. He said they'd never let them bomb north towards China and then they'd advance them and then pull them back and forth like a yoyo, never accomplishing anything but killing soldiers. Then the welcome home wasn't very nice either. He said the only way he'd allow his children to fight in a war is if it would be on our own soil. Period. Otherwise, he said it wasn't worth it.

Sorry for the venting. He has just told me these things for years.

Hope others feel the same as he does.

29. I Was A War Protester And Proud Of It...
I had a POW bracelet and wrote letters to various soldiers (I wish I had kept that list) telling them that we did love them here at home and our protests were to bring them home safe and sound. I got some great letter back at the time...almost all said they really appreciated our work. We were closely affiliated with Vietnam Veterans Against The War and was very familiary with John Kerry then. Traitor? My ass, the man had guts to say what he did, when he did and became a hero to millions of us. In a way, my vote this November will be a special thank you to him for helping keep my ass out of Nam.

My friend, Tom, was involved in S & D missions. It took several years for him to open up to me about this, and some of his stories (and these he related to me in the early 80's) fall very much in line with what Sen. Kerry was speaking about at the time. The entire delta was a virtual free fire zone where you fired first and asked questions later...and anyone you didn't know was an enemy, you didn't hestitate.

I can only imagine the fear and angst these men had knowing that any second a bullet with their name could be on the way and the emotions that go with that feeling. There was no training for what to expect in this situation...other than basic. No wonder so many came back with mental scars to this day.

Congrats to your husband and tell him he's done a great thing for his country. But I'm sure he knows that, and you're lucky to have him.

Cheers!

30. Thanks.
I just want to add one more thing. He says the horror stories were true despite what the media and some vets say. He was just a supply guy but he heard daily stories about, well, you know all those. People want to deny our men experienced these emotions and did things terrible as well as had terrible things happen to them and their comrades AND the Vietnamese people. But it's all true about what Kerry testified about according to my husband's perspective.

Have fun with him!

8. BLEH
Bleeeeeeeechhhhhh! First time I ever saw her on t.v., and it was an accident--I have been reading here lately that MSNBC was one of the "good" stations! I hardly ever watch tv 'cept for CNN (contains no news), but lately, that has REALLY turned me off. Sooo, my first experience with MSNBC was, to say the least, a bit disappointing.

Regards to all. Btw, I've been lurking here for about 2 yrs, but for some reason, could never figure out the login thingie--probably because I use excite.com,--so don't bother with the welcome wagon; I already know many of you.

34. ANYONE find any humor in that article?
My demo dad did seem to think there was some "humor" to the piece! I read nothing but hate....Hate disguised as humor. I also noted that he commented on her appearance. As though she was an attractive person. I was floored! I guess after seeing someone in such a negative light, i just can't imagine how anyone could be blinded by her "beauty" (which I don't believe exists)
