Great Talking Points for Us on Recent Terror Alert
Everyone I talk to, including Bush supporters, are embarrassed by the most recent terror alerts.

My opening is that they made a major terror alert announcement Sunday using information that was compiled before September 11th. How could this be such a major announcement, other than to have some political impact?

Next, how could it have any affect on those working in those designated buildings or in that specific vicinity, if the tell them to go about their business as usual, since they have no specific time frame of the threat?

By giving us this threat information in such an urgent fashion, with no arrests in the U.S., no direct conformation, and so close to the threat fiasco a month ago when Ashcroft forget to tell Ridge, don't we make any other threat, regardless of it's merit, a subject of skepticism?

In closing, I reply that all I get out of theses supposed terror alerts is two things, be afraid and vote for Bush. I happen to choose neither.

The Bush folks have no answer, and are left looking like idiots.

2. The following needs to be done ON AIR:
"Judy (or whore of choice), now we find out that this alert was not what the administration billed it to be. Don't you find the timing suspicious in light of the leak that this is old info? Why didn't they release it three months ago? How about six?

The reason is that they knew you'd go nuts about it. And you didn't disappoint."

4. I forgot to add

that the most important point is that the info should have been kept within the intel community.

Now that the terrorists know we have info and access to more, they will change their tactics and targets.

In 1943, when the Americans captured the "Enigma Machine" that decoded enemy messages, we didn't announce that fact to the world. It became top secret.

Other than domestic political benefit for Bush, what possible advantage can this alert being made public have?
