Question: Does anyone know if a parent can get a restraining order against
recruiters talking to their children at any time until that child is 18?

1. Just tell your kid(s) to say "No Thanks"
and walk away.

4. Good advice.
Tell your kids that they should NEVER give recruiters their name, address, SS #, Telephone # or the time of day. Never, ever, ever talk to those people. As for a restraining order, I don't know. I like the idea though. :)

2. No restraining orders have to be very specific
but you are the bad boy insofar as they are concerned

You are the bad influencer, and you need to keep at it even after 18

Now service to one's country is honorable, and that has to be remembered.... but Bush, I dunno

6. Even if you could...
I believe the No Child Left Behind Act states that schools must share with the military the name, address and phone number of junior and senior level students. You must specifically request a form from the school and ask in writing that your child's name not be included.
(Anyone remember this -- I think a reporter in Oregon discovered this.)

Anyway, if they are contacting your child via phone or mail, this may be the reason. If it's in public places, there may not be anything your child can do except walk away.

Hopefully, one of our military members will have some good advice for you!

7. You can request that your child not be included in the lists ...
during their junior year. The school is required to provide the list to the recuiters, but there is a provision that requires the school to allow you to exclude your child.
