And according to reports, these terrorists were planning it three years ago, August 2001.

We've just recently learned that the terrorists are planning to strike in early September.

So what we just learned is that three years ago terrorists were planning a major attack on iconic financial centers in early september. And the government knew about it...

Anybody want to finish this thought for me? It's just too damn ridiculous...

Huh. And here I thought it was a head-fake -- that the alert was based on disinformation fed to US intel with the objective of diverting us from Qaeda's real intention to hit the Republican convention and take out the government.

But if it were, it would be better stuff than that -- just another *Bushwa screw-up, looks like.

18. What is not clear in any of this

is that there is any evidence at all that an attack on any of these "targets" is any more likely this week than it has been since "the terror intelligence was updated as recently as January" or at any time in the next four or five years.

Remember, this administration is the same one that advised us all to prepare for a chemical attack by stockpiling plastic sheeting and duct tape.
