Anyone opposing the US are now "TERRORISTS"
ABC WNT must have said the word "terrorist" 10 time in the first 5 minutes last night. So this is how the spin is going to be.

Now apparently there are some actual terorist groups now in Iraq (duh could have told you that was going to happen) and now we are seeing a ratcheting up of the language and implications that there are ties between the two (I think this is a backdoor move to suggest they occurred before the war.

U.S. Gen. John Abizaid Says Terrorists in Iraq Pose Gravest Threat to Stability

Terrorism has replaced hit-and-run attacks on American soldiers as the biggest threat to U.S.-led efforts to stabilize Iraq, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq says.

Gen. John Abizaid, chief of U.S. Central Command, told a Pentagon news conference Thursday that elements of the terrorist organization Ansar al-Islam have migrated south into the Baghdad area and that foreign extremists are infiltrating Iraq from Syria to further destabilize it.

Asked whether he saw links or signs of cooperation between remnants of Saddam's former Baath Party and terrorist groups entering Iraq, Abizaid said they are organized in similar ways but are not allies.

"I believe that there are some indications of cooperation in specific areas," he added. "Of course, ideologically they are not at all compatible. But on the other hand, you sometimes cooperate against what you consider a common enemy."

1. It is the result of the U.N. bombing
After that terrorist act, they are going to focus on this angle.

3. it's always been that way
The viet minh were "terrorists" (after we got done supporting them against the French). The Sandanistas were "terrorists". The Taliban were "terrorists". Terrorist is anyone with a gun without a uniform (this is not an absolute standard however, several battles between the IDF and Phalangist militias vs Syrian troops and Palestinian militia's were reported in the US press with the uniformed syrians as "terrorists".

5. Would that definition include the militias in the American Revolution?
Do you think those who believe such a definition would say so?

7. wouldn't that definition include many of the US "special forces" ops?
why weren't those much-bragged-of special ops infiltrations into Iraq, regarded as terrorism?
