My final post on the topic of RANDI RHODES.

I'll keep it short and sweet: If you don't like her schtick, DON'T LISTEN! If you have complaints, why not send her a letter/fax/e-mail? I'm so sick of hearing her described as "a bitch" "on-the-rag", full of herself, and on and on and on.

Randi was the ONLY liberal I could hear on the radio in the year after 9-11 in Miami. She kept me sane when all media went into full terrormongering mode. After a year or so, they turned her station in Miami into a "Fox Sports" outlet, and I couldn't get WJNO's streaming. Thank Koresh I finally found ie america radio and Mike Malloy.

Randi is cool as hell. Like all of us, she has her faults, one of which may be not acknowledging those faults. But her heart's in the right place, she's a great asset, and does much more to motivate people than Chuck D., Janeane, or Marty Kaplan (Koresh bless'em)

she's awesome. What's so disappointing is that if she were a man, she wouldn't get one tenth of those complaints.

Why does each show have to be a clone of the other? I think it's great that Air America give us a wide variety of liberal talk. Sure I like some more than others. I can only listen on Sirius and online. I'd love to have a radio outlet. But I'm in Texas and won't hold my breath.

10. Randi is the most prepared talk show host on AAR.

She has her off days when she goes on about something more than is necessary, but by and large, she is the most informed tsh out there. She doesn't just respond to the issues or discuss the issues, she is ready with facts to back up her discussions.

I think she is a riot and if she were a man, none of this would be an issue. She is no where near the vile Rush and Savage. She may get excited about an issue or frustrated about a caller who spouts lies without facts, but that doesn't happen that often.

She is out there for us. Randi is great, and if she annoys you, turn the channel, turn down the volume or talk a walk.

11. I just listened to Rhodes for the first time today

I liked what she had to say. The only problem I've got with her is that she just moves so fast. My laid back small town brain has a hard time keeping up with her. But I'm glad she's there. The more liberal voices we have in the media the better.

I, however, grew up on Long Island, and EVERY woman I knew spoke like her and most had her attitude. I'm quite at home with it.

I believe if she were a mid-Western man, nobody here would have ANY complaints. I think her accent and the fact that she's a woman generates all this.

15. Well, if that's the case it's a shame

I thought we were more open minded than that. She's clearly very good at what she does and is obviously in the position she's in based on ability.

I've got no problem with the accent. What a silly reason not to like a person! I have relatives who are from Maine and they sound very similar to her less the speed. As far as her going fast goes, maybe I just need to have an extra cup of coffee before I listen to her and then I'll be able to keep up.

I think people just have a hard time with a strong NY accent, especially in a woman, and they're not even necessarily aware of why it bugs them.

I've heard a lot of people my whole life say they think a NY accent sounds "stupid". I used to think Southern accents sounded "stupid". I learned better.
