3. I don't have a link, but
yes he did. Basically said this info was possible based on his outstanding leadership in the war on terror. Heard it on MSNBC, came up when they were deciding whether the info was political.

9. Found it...
..."But we must understand that the kind of information available to us today is the result of the President's leadership in the war against terror. The reports that have led to this alert are the result of offensive intelligence and military operations overseas, as well as strong partnerships with our allies around the world, such as Pakistan. Such operations and partnerships give us insight into the enemy so we can better target our defensive measures here and away from home..."

Thanks

12. interesting that he mentioned Pakistan as well
is this the result of Pakistan being leant on by Bush in recent weeks? Forget that it is a dictatorship that has sold nuclear weapon technology to 'axis of evil' countries.

11. even uberho Mrs. Greenspan said that this was a BAD idea
that he should not have made this political connection to the announcement

very surprised she said that

course she said it along with deriding anyone who could possibly believe the junta would politicize something like that

as did the rest of the panel, most disgustingly

they made it sound as if one would have to be DERGANGED to think otherwise, except, of course, for partisan dems like Dean

what a surprise

10. Read Tom's transcript -- he forgets to mention the info predates 9/11 --
"But we must understand that the kind of information available to us today is the result of the President’s leadership in the war against terror. The reports that have led to this alert are the result of offensive intelligence and military operations overseas, as well as strong partnerships with our allies around the world, such as Pakistan. Such operations and partnerships give us insight into the enemy so we can better target our defensive measures here and away from home

The terrorists should know, in this country, this kind of information, while startling, is not stifling. It will not weaken the American spirit, it will not dampen our resolve, for our resolve is indivisible – and unyielding – which is a weapon infinitely stronger than the plots and the plans of those who wish to do us harm."
