1. subtitle reads:
Much of the information that led authorities to raise the terror alert at several large financial institutions in the NY and D.C. areas was 3 or 4 years old... NYT Tuesday Page One Splash To Claim: Intelligence and law enforcement officials 'had not yet found concrete evidence that a terror plot or preparatory surveillance operations were still under way'...

I know most DU'ers hate him because he broke the scrubebd clinton/newseek story...but he really seems to be even handed when it comes to breaking news. I heard him say "I go where the stink is."...and I think that is accurate.

36. Good job, Kerry. AND, when there are alerts, people SHOULD stay home
When these false alerts start having a real econmomic impact, Shrubco may have to think twice before waving them around every time Kerry's numbers are better than Shrubbie's.

43. They could have told us the "information" was over two years old.
They must have known. Or they they didn't they should have checked. It is not their function to parrot the Government. Even in "wartime". Just how long is the media going to hide behind "Homeland Security" for not doing their homework?

He said that the leadership was not handling the terra scares properly and the subordinates were doing as best they could, despite the poor leadership. I have to find the link, but he said he thought it was political and unfair to the American people.

39. I was thinking the same thing yesterday ... how sad is that?
it's very sad that we're at the point where our government can release information like this and the first thing I think of is that if Kerry even hints at it being politically motivated, they'll make sure an attack happens against their own people just to make Kerry look bad ... and the sadder part is I don't even feel like I have a tin foil hat on when I think it

31. "It would be monstrous"
My husband said he heard Kerry say that today. That he disagrees with Howard because "it would be monstrous" for the President to play politics with security. Anybody else hear that? So as this terror alert unravels, we've got Kerry saying "it would be monstrous". How cool of a soundbyte is that?

Drudge's "exclusives" are quite often bullshit, but the vast bulk of what he does is just cull other news sites. This citation is from the New York Times, not Drudge. There's no link yet because the paper isn't out yet.

44. thats a very interesting theory..
and sounds very rovian-- can you expand it a bit tho? i mean exactly how would it be a workable trap for kerry? do you mean they trick him into denouncing the alert, and then do a MIHOP call yo actually create a terrorist attack, just to say i told you so? that would be monstrous indeed.
if that's not what you mean, could elaborate?

Fake alerts until October's Attack followed by a Stolen Election...

Other than that, enjoy the summer.

PS: The fake alerts are a ploy to get Kerry to condemn the fake attacks. If he does condemn them before October, THEN I would worry. Carry on.

As a former ASA'er (Army Security Agency), I am aghast at this regimes cooking of the intel books. Shakespeare said "the devil can cite scripture for his own purpose." But even the devil would be smart enough to use current information. Not years old information.

Now (!), don't let the Bu$h regime blame this fiasco on the intelligence community. Oh, no. This is a contrivance on a criminal level. Scream bloody foul and grab their rotten balls.

is the fact that no one comes out and says that on any "Opionin" shows or at press conferences. I mean someone needs to be shouting...Why the Fuck did we go to war on 5 year old intel???!!! It's crazy and no one is ever going to be held accountable, at least not the way they should be..ie..welscme to the pen bro.
