15. maybe they gauge how they are influencing the election
they're BS, I agree

Corporate Media will want to tighten the race for 'business'; and, will keep a pulse feel to see if they're doing it ...

IIRC, Gore had a post-convention lead; and, the Media started in on Al: the Internet thing, the clothes thing, the Love Story thing ....

... tabloid things ...

and, at the same time, started lying about GWB ... reporting nothing of his sordid past and poor job as Texas governor ...

... the race tightened ...

5. Why does this poll always show Kerry way out in front?
It's 67% to 32% now. Kerry has been above 55% for months and is trending upward which I understand. But why is he 35% ahead online but only 5 points ahead by most phone polls?

11. Because phone polls are easier to manipulate by the pollsters.
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 05:34 PM by Feanorcurufinwe
'Unscientific' polls maybe unscientific, and not necessarily representative of your target group, but at least there is no pollster throwing out 'anomalous reponses' or 'unlikeley voters'.

Plus, a large number of people (myself included) do not respond to telephone polls, making them accurate only if your target group is 'those people who enjoy getting telemarketing calls at dinnertime'.

12. 'cause msnbc fans think
faux does the thinking for its base
cnn is lost in space with the out of control robot in charge.
Cnbc? do they still exist?

PBS - at least they really try to do things straight.

13. online polls are biased
they presuppose the voters have the requisite intelligence to turn a computer on.

14. Because it's not a random sampling.
But I think it's interesting for a couple of reasons:

(1) A year ago, the freeps would be enthusiastically spending hours voting multiple times....seems they've lost the heart to waste their time doing that these days

(2) Nader is getting just 2%.....I think this shows that he's not going to be anywhere near the spoiler he was in 2000.

9. I don;t know why Kerry has such a big lead with MSNBC readers
This has been pretty consistent all year. I wish the real polls looked liked this.

i honestly believe, and have for some time, that bu$h's base is in all reality about 30%. the media are the only ones who would have you believe otherwise.
