How can Kerry get out in front of this terror crap?
I think he needs to step up the criticism of BushCo's phony war on terra. He needs to talk about how they cut funding to our first responders and how they have fought more inspection at our ports.

Then when they pull their LIHOP/MIHOP shit later on in the campaign, he can legitamately say I told you so and push the blame back on Bush. This MIGHT blunt the rally around the emporer effect if an attack were to be launched.

1. Change the dynamics
From one of fear and hatred and letting Daddy Bush take care of us to one of empowerment and determination that we, together as a nation, are going to not only defend the country, but win the war of ideas. Everybody who suffers a tragic loss has to move to a place of personal empowerment again. Bush won't let that happen, Kerry needs to find those emotional triggers.

Empowering America and not emasulating us.

All over America... people will be showing up to Kerry rallies saying "citizen Jane reporting for duty, what's the plan?"

People want to dig in and HELP GET THINGS ON TRACK!

10. We've got work to do
He said that a few times in the primaries. I had always hoped it would sort of percolate up. I think it's a great theme, "We've got work to do in America". In so many areas. And it's empowering which is the way to get beyond tragedy, pain and grief.

2. Get to the real issue
Americans must decide what strategy they will use to fight terror in the next four years. Do they want to do it by trying to take over the entire Mideast? Or, do they want to do it by intelligence and law enforcement and war as a last resort? Lets hear Bush's plan.

3. Emphasize what we should have done in Afghanistan.
I think the virtual abandonment of the Afghan invasion for Iraq was the most foolish and most telling thing that this administration has done.

Afghanistan was barely begun and we had an opportunity to focus all of our strength on finding Osama and vanquishing Al Quaida and the Taliban but instead or leaders turned the focus on Iraq and now we have a mess in both countries.

Kerry should focus on that very bad decision. Afghanistan was where the 9/11 enemy was. It was important to win there and stabilize the country. Leaving it in limbo was one of the worst decisions of this war.

6. Tell the truth. Oil dependancy. Plus new technology to free us from it.
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 04:36 PM by Gregorian
A double triple whammy.
Break the habit, and create a booming economy. The world, not just the USA, needs to stop combusting petroleum. After all, it's oil dependancy that has created the terrorists, is it not?

On a side note, think of something that doesn't employ petroleum. It's difficult. If we run out of oil, it's not just transportation that will suffer, it's also the plethora of things that require it that. The answer is nearly everything has petroleum involved in it's manufacture.

7. We need to catch these "terrorists" that we have specific info on....
It's not enough to give a warning that we are threatened....we need to do more.

8. Bush group creates fear......fear creates stress
People under stress don't always act rationally. The Bush people are using this psychological tool to their advantage. Kerry might talk about the brainwashing tactics being used. I'd like to know how all the children who listen to this manipulation are handling it?

9. Ask why Hamland Security Director is such a partisan
Ask why if Bush has made us so much safer as Ridge keeps saying why are we on an alert? Bush's own State Dept report says terrorism is highest in 30yrs since Iraqnam. And why did Ridge use this occasion to highlight *'s so-called accomplishments during a press conference about new terror warnings?

13. Terror=fear=Bush re-election
Kerry should pound away on the Bushies "reluctance" to form the 9/11 Commission and how they put up roadblocks for so long. He should mention the fact that so much money that could have gone to our security here has instead gone to stupid Iraq.
