Question for hacks: What happens to Rove post-Bush defeat?
When Bush loses, will Rove's celebrity/reputation as a political genius be irreparably damaged? Will he try to build a new/improved neocon candidate for the next go-around? Has he made too many enemies? Who will reach out to him and who will he reach out to post-Bush defeat?

I relish the speculation!

8. Who had the wormtongue job for Poppy? It wasn't Rove, was it?
Was it Lee Atwater or had he already died during Reagan years?

14. I'm searching for exactly why he was fired by Poppy
this is what I found so far....not much.

Snip:
Rove, the president's political adviser, denied being the source of the leak, though he was reportedly fired from George H.W. Bush's 1992 reelection campaign for leaking damaging information about a rival to Bob Novak, the very columnist who exposed Plame in July

http://www.harpers.org/KarlRove.html

Rove worked for Atwater. Poppy hired Rove in 1979 or something like that. Rove also tried to help * in his failed Congressional bid in the 70's

He'll work on House and Senate campaigns until Jeb's ready to run for President, whenever he wouldn't be running against an incumbent or Hillary.

Eight years of Kerry/Edwards, followed by eight years of Edwards/Obama, then eight years of Obama/Clinton (or reverse that to Edwards/Clinton & Clinton/Obama) and I think Jeb should get his opportunity in 2028. So there's a good chance Rove will be out of prison by then.
