George Bush, Man of Destiny
Apparently some people believe that Bush is not just a good president, he is a great one. While browsing in the library, I came upon a couple of books that praise George Bush as a man of destiny, an unlikely visionary who is just what America needs. I thumbed through them to see if the books were on the level, and unfortunately they are.

This may be what the Republicans are planning to roll at us in 2004. Bush, square-jawed and resolute, making the hard decisions that need to be made. We're lucky that God chose this singular man to lead us through our darkest hour.

Well, yuk. This strategy, although outrageous in its disconnect with reality, has two advantages. It's the kind of sentimentality that people like to believe, and it's also the sort of role Bush himself likes to play. Look for commercials that play the Battle Hymn of the Republic as Bush lands on the aircraft carrier. We did not choose this moment of greatness, and we will not shrink from it ...

1. We should have a campaign ...
... where we slip opposition tracts within these Bush books.

4. Who wrote these books and when?
A myth is being created around this pathetic wormy man. For God's sake this isn't a movie script. These people need to be exposed for the propagandaists that they are. Gimme some names. My library hasn't gotten a new book since old man Bush was the President. So help me out here.

10. On The Shelves
You can't judge the Mid-Manhattan branch by the books that are on the shelves, because that indicates only that patrons are not reading them. Maybe the New York Public Library is obligated to buy books from both sides of the political spectrum. These are some of the books I saw on the shelves yesterday:

The Right Man: The Surprise Presidency of George W. Bush by David Frum. Frum is the speechwriter who came up with the term "axis of evil". Interviewed in the Atlantic Monthly, Frum calls George Bush a man of powerful intellect:

... When you lay out the case for war—here's what we know about terrorism; here's what we know about the relationship between terror organizations and Iraq; here's what we know about the weapons Iraq is trying to acquire, why wouldn't we want to stop it?—people will often say, especially abroad, Well, maybe we would want to stop it if the United States weren't led by this bellicose moron. So it is very important for the people of the United States and the world to know that he is not a bellicose moron. He is a man of powerful intellect and a man of great restraint. Knowing that is an important contribution to huge decisions that the world has to make ...

The other books on the shelves included:

George and Laura : Portrait of an American Marriage by Christopher Andersen

Anyone Can Grow Up: How George Bush and I Made It to the White House by Margaret Carlson

Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty over Liberalism -- by Sean Hannity

12. Thanks.
I am not surprised that all these books were written by the whoredom of the media and journalistic worlds.

5. The only vision he has
is blood. And the myth he is good on defense is going to crack, as soon as conventional wisdom sets in: Violence begets Violence.

They can roll whatever the hell they want at us, the left will keep smashing it, like we have for the past 3 year, the brainwashed among us can listen if they choose.

7. I've met several people this last couple of weeks that like the
idiot. They explained why. They were white males too. Seems they like him because he makes the hard decisions that have to be made and sticks to his guns, even in the face of extreme opposition. He has a strong character. He leads.

I think he's crazy.

Mooned him for gods sake, and the French, Germans, etc all opted to stay away from Iraq.

Some leadership.

He even disappeared for 58576 hours during 9/11

He is a reacter not a planner, not a proacter

Among other things, he can hardly read his script w/o fucking it up

Mongo could do better, and he from RockRidge.

9. And isn't it amazing that all of his "hard" decisions favor him and his
kind exclusively? Just a coincidence, right?

NEVER has any single one of his desicions resulted in even a slight sacrifice on his or his cronies.

Not once!

Simply disgusting. But that's reduntant!
