How many signs is each conventioneer issued?

I can't get over how every single delegate seems to have the appropriate sign ready at a moment's notice.

Do they put them on the chairs? Issue them with the ubiquitous canvas tote bag ever conventioneer at every convention of any kind is always issued? Is there a "sign flash order" list that tells people when to hold up which sign?

I'm not criticizing anything. I'm just fascinated by the logistics of it all.

1. The floor whips

are responsible for making sure that each delegate has the appropriate
sign for each speaker (but this is only for the "biggies").

That's why you saw so many "Obama" signs when he was speaking last
night. Same for Edwards tonight.

Just a fact of current "production" politics these days.

2. Watching them all leave last night, they all had a pile of signs

under their arms. Tote bags would be a good idea.
