Obama and Teresa Heinz Kerry's speeches were great, however

they seemed to lack the Clinton emotional response from the delegates (IMO).

I think both of them touched on the issues, injustices, outrages, etc. that piss us all off, however, the bottom line is "how many minds did you change?"

Maybe I'm being overly negative, but as much as I loved them both, I'm not sure they changed anyone's mind.

Please, please, show me where I'm wrong.

A few tears and a few votes aren't enough.

Although I shed a few tears myself, it's the undecided voters that are needed, and I don't think we got them tonight.

I don't pretend to know what the hell it takes to get "undecided voters" over to our side, however, I'm pretty sure that tonight's "Convention Act 2" didn't accomplish it.

What's it's going to take, I don't pretend to know. But I there's some genius or some incredibly inspired individual out there somewhere who has an answer.

4. definately wrong re: Obama - as far as Teresa... maybe not.

Obama's speech touched me, and it was evident on the faces of all who appeared on camera that they also felt the stir of passion that is so much the legacy of great leaders. I have never heard such a notable speech in my lifetime, and it stacks up against the speeches of great statesmen of the past. Even Bill Richardson concedes (as I write - on Jon Stewarts' show) he may well be a new party star. I could only think, as I watched him speak, that we were witnessing the birthing of a new national leader, if not the first (future) black president of the US.

he has the touch of the poet.

His words move us even if we don't realise it consciuosly.

I have to say though, I don't know what to make of Teresa Heinz Kerry's speech. It was good, but a lot of focused more on herself than her husband, and it got a little bizarre at points. Her line about Kerry earning his medals the old fashioned way was great, though.

remember, clinton is already known and loved. obama while we have hopes for him is stil new to most people. same thing with teresa . she has not actually been first lady.

I think Obama was amazing and I'm sure that the delegates felt it as well. I think they may have set the audio to focus on him rather than the audience. I, for one, was in tears.

Obama could get anybody but the most cold-hearted bastard to vote for him. He was absolutely amazing, John Kennedy amazing. He appealed to the best hopes as American citizens. Teresa appealed to Americans as global citizens and as the hope of the world. The two together, grand slam, out of the park. Amazing night, absolutely amazing.

This guy has a great future, whether in the senate or even higher. This was the only speech so far that came close to Clinton's. I also believe that it was the kind of speech that would draw independants, moderates, and undecideds.

As for Teresa's speech, I wasn't able to catch all of it. I'll hold off my judgement until I watch it later.
