I was discussing tonight, with a life long close friend that I also work with why she votes republican. She said because republicans look out for her. Now we have the same exact job, pay scale and basic living arrangements, so I started...

From 1992 to 2000 how much did your pay increase? ($12,100)
From 2000 to 2004 how much did your pay increase? ($1,600)

From 1992 to 2000 how much did your deferred comp (retirement) make? (quadrupled)
From 2000 to 2004 how much did your deferred comp make? (lost 2/3)

From 1992 to 2000 how much did your health insurance cost? ($12.00 per paycheck)
From 2000 to 2004 how much did your health insurance cost? ($35.00 per paycheck)

How much were your property taxes, fuel bills, groceries, etc., in the year 2000?
How much are they now just 4 years later?

I then corrected her that we had not lost 100 men and women in the armed services, but 1000. And most of our men and women now serving have been forced to stay over there because there aren't any replacements.

She then said "ya know Eric, I really need to rethink this don't I"

I said "that's all you need to do is think about it before you vote"

What she'll do I dunno, but at least she's thinking...

Don't compare the ammounts for an 8 year period to a 4 year period unless you're guy's in the 4 year period and it's greater.
