1. He broke his oath of office
... to uphold the laws of his state and the U.S. Constitution.

I don't know about the laws in Alabama, but I would think his behavior is not only a breach of his oath, but in contempt of court.

Grounds for removal from the bench and possibly disbarrment?

I hope so!

2. Somneone just needs to put up a monument
to the pillars of Islam.

It would have to stay by the very arguments he is espousing.

If nothing else, it would keep him regular -- which is an important public service due to the fact that he is obviously so full of shit.

3. I'll put up an art exhibit next to it

It's entitled "Give a whack for the First Amendment". It consists of a sledgehammer on a 50 foot chain. It happens to be 20 feet away from Moore's travesty.

4. How about a beautiful Ashcroft blue curtain?
The very gall of that idiot saying that it says in the Constitution that god is the source of our laws. It's even more ridiculous than him referring to the "fact" of god's existence. The former is provably false, the latter is a false statement because it claims something that cannot be proven.

I hope he is going to personally pay the fines and removal charges; they're not the responsibility of the State.

He should be removed from office.

Let's stop talking about smashing the thing, though; it plays into their hand and it also hurts innocent believers.

John Ashcroft needs to immediately move on this personally; he swore up and down that his beliefs would never influence his enforcement out of our laws. That was idiotic, since the Attorney General prioritizes what to pursue, so he was only talking about a small portion of his purview; hence we pursue porn, prostitutes and drugs while terrorists and corporate buccaneers run amok. This should be a simple test for him, and he should have it forced down his sanctimonious throat.
