Are We Recalling Republican Guvs With Budget Deficits?
I apologize, as I'm sure this has been discussed here ad nauseum but I missed it. The California recall makes me so mad I could spit so I'm looking for payback/blowback.

1. What Republican governors have big budget deficits on their watch?
2. Are there recall laws in their states that can be used as in California?
3. Are we just sitting around watching California or spitting in Repubs faces elsewhere?
4. If the recall succeeds and a Dem is not "elected" why not start a recall the next day?
5. Why let Repubs succeed with this crap without it coming around to them? What can our side do to make them regret their legal but despicable tactics?

2. Ohio's Geek Governor Bob Taft
Has screwed this state and the people beyond anything you can possibly imagine. Huge deficit, loss of jobs,he's raised taxes on everything.....and I mean EVERYTHING.....even tanning and haircuts. It's awful what he is doing...but oh well, who cares? He's a republican. And he will get by with it. :grr:

6. A Repbulican raised taxes?!
How come nobody's calling him on it; when a Democrat even thinks of raising a miniscule tax, the Dem gets crucified.

I hate double standards!

4. Do we have an asshole willing to fund it so he can be governor?
Well that's the first reason, the other being that most states don't have idiotic laws that you can have a recall election with 1 million signatures. I'm sorry but it's entirely california's fault.

8. TEXAS!!! 2nd largest!
This on the Conservative News, so I would guess it's not 'liberal politicizing'. Why doesn't our Democratic Party SAY THIS?????

http://www.conservativenews.net/Business/archive/200301/BUS20030109a.html

"The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) released "budget figures" showing California with a $35 billion deficit. Texas ranked "second worst" with a potential $12 billion budget deficit, recently surpassing New York State."

California's Gross Product is twice that of Texas, so the deficit looks proportionately worse. But if you factor in the energy fraud, the deficit in Texas is actually worse than California's.
