3. If you are going to start it

Start is productively. Rename the thread to Christian and Atheist living side by side. We know we disagree on stuff already. Lets work on what we don't disagree on.

4. It was a joke and I wanted to try posting a topic on the new software.

I have participated in many such discussion on Athiesm and Christianity, and the impression that I have gotten is that, on DU, we generally do live side by side. The only times the differences come out, it seems, is when topics like this are posted. Thats one of the things I love most about DU. On FR, for example, everything is viewed as a reflection on your religiousness(not sure if that is a word). If one of them says something that another disagrees with, and all of a sudden you have a religious war going. Here, one's religion is left private, as it should be. In summary, yes, we disagree, but it is outweighed by what we DO agree on, and the disagreement is all but ignored.
