Help me: What does 'passing through Iran' mean?
Just watched a newscast about why we may go after Iran next. Something about it was learned that the 9/11 highjackers 'passed through' Iran and not Iraq. Please explain to me what this is really saying or what it means. Why should we next go after Iran because the 9/11 highjackers 'passed through' Iran? Hell, they landed here in the US, lived here, learned to fly planes here, and 'passed through' US airport security.
Does anyone see how ridiculous this is?

Oh, yeah, and tell me how the world is a safer place with more beheadings happening every day and 900 US military dead, thousands wounded and tens of thousands of Iraqis in their graves from US bombs?

I am so sick and tired of the RW message media that gives out these assinine sound bites of news in lock step with WH talking points.

1. Join the club
The only way I can prevent it from driving me crazy is by attempting to channel it into something positive. :grr:

2. Good questions, continue to puzzle me also.....
...need to get a freeper or RW neo-con to answer that for us. Like what did it mean to have members of the Bin Laden family pass through the hands of the FBI only two days after 9/11 without questioning any of them and to use a White House chartered aircraft to fly them all home safely to Saudi Arabia?:eyes:

3. Randi Rhodes had a good explanantion today
She said they "passed through" Iran in the same way they "passed through" Boston - so we should be bombing Iran and Boston! :eyes:

5. Welcome, I think you are going to like it here. You will fit right in.
:hi:

Hijackers trained with AQ in Afghanistan, which borders Iran, and would go through Iran to get to the US and everywhere else without stamping their passports. People with passports stamped from Afghanistan and Iran are scrutinized more carefully. They were trying to help them keep that a secret.

7. This is a bit more complicated

They were allowed to pass through Iran, but without having their
Visa's stamped with "Iran". Why? Because that would have put
them automatically on a watch list when entering the US, or even
possibly denying them entry to the US. However, I suspect that
Iran did this as a matter of course for ALL Muslim tourists,
business men, students, etc. I haven't heard anything real
sinister about Iran's involvement with 9/11 yet, though it's
clear that they PASSIVELY supported Bin Laden. While the Iranians
are practicing their own form of fundamentalist Islam, it must
be remembered that it is very different than the Wahabi version
pushed by both Al Queda and the Taliban. They probably aren't too
keen on the spread of Wahabi in the region. And final point, while
Iran is Muslim, they are not Arabic.

9. Nevertheless, we are making them all our lifelong enemies
If Bush is NOT responsible for the misdeeds, the incompetence of his administration, I don't see how we can hold the Iranian government or even Saddam responsible for the misdeeds of their administrations. I'm all for charging Saddam. But am also for charging Bush and his top regime officials.
